Message for Lent
The way most of us welcome Lent, the season of preparation for Easter, you would hardly guess that the word in the original Anglo-Saxon is translated as "Spring".
It seems such a gloomy and killjoy season whilst Spring is a time to look forward in hope, and yet even the seeds sown in Spring must germinate in silence beneath the soil.
By putting aside more time in prayer, by receiving your communion more frequently you are enabling the soul to grow in silence in readiness to welcome the Risen Lord at Easter.
